Description: Carousel
Slideshow is a fabulous DHTML script for the showcasing of images on your
site. It displays images in a 3D, carousel fashion. Highlights of this
script other than its stunning appearance are:

Slideshow can be set to
either slide in from right to left, or the reverse.

Slideshow can be set to be
4-sided, 6, 8, or 12. A 4-sided slideshow for example means 2 images
will be in view at all times (the other two behind the scene).

Each image can have an
optional link associated with it.

Slideshow pauses on
mouseover.

jQuery Popeye generates an inline image gallery from an unordered list of images. The gallery features clever inline image enlargement, i.e. the enlarged image stretches out over the site content without adding a visual overlay of the whole site .

10. BarackSlideshow

I guess pretty much everyone has seen Barack Obamas website by now, which is clearly one of the prettiest of all candidates we have heard of so far. Not only is it an example of state-of-the-art design, but it is also nice to navigate and interact with. I decided to imitate the homepage slideshow. I had already experimented with similar animated lists, which allowed me to have it ready within minutes.

11. Agile Carousel

Agile Carousel is a jQuery plugin that allows you to easily create a custom carousel. Call Jquery UI to enable many different additional transition types and easing methods. It uses PHP to draw images from the folder you specify. Configure many different options including controls, slide timer length, easing type, transition type and more.

12. Simple Controls Gallery

Want to display images as an automatic slideshow that can also be explicitly played or paused by the user? Simple Controls Gallery rotates and displays an image by fading it into view over the previous one, with navigation controls that pop up when the mouse rolls over the Gallery.
Lets take a look at the scripts set of features:

Displays images either as an automatic or manual slideshow,
with the image faded into view over the previous. A Navigational Panel
slides up when the mouse rolls over the gallery to play, pause, or step
through to a specific image within the gallery.

In automatic mode, set the number of cycles before the
script stops rotating.

Each slide consists of an image that can be hyperlinked.

Each slide can have a description associated with it. When
defined, a Description Panel slides down from the top of the gallery showing
the description.

	The gallery supports
persistence of the last viewed image via session cookies, so going away then
coming back to the gallery calls up the last viewed image within a browser
session.

I am not so great at spelling, and it was much later that I realized that the more appropriate spellings would be Gallerific or Gallerrific, but is too late now for a name change, so Galleriffic remains.

23. jQuery Image Cube

A jQuery plugin that sets a division to rotate between images or other things as if they were on the faces of a cube. The current version is 1.2.0 and is available under the GPL and MIT licences. For more detail see the documentation reference page. Or see a minimal page that you could use as a basis for your own investigations. The image cube functionality can easily be added to a division with appropriate default settings. It then displays the images contained within the targetted division in a cycle every two seconds. A random rotation is chosen each time to move to the next image. Highlights and shadows are used to enhance the 3D effect.

Works with jQuery 1.2 and jquery.easing.1.2. slideViewer checks for the number of images within your list, and dinamically creates a set of links to command slide you pictures. Also, clicking on each image will make the gallery slide to the next picture.

And fear not in taming this script to go exactly where you want it to- two public methods, two custom event handlers, and three status variables are here for that purpose.

29. CrossSlide

CrossSlide is a jQuery plugin implementing some common slide-show animations, traditionally only available via Adobe Flash or other proprietary plugins. CrossSlide builds upon jQuerys animation facility, so it is as portable across browsers as jQuery itself that is, a lot. Internally CrossSlide does not rely on lookup tables, building instead a chain of functions. Each function starts a linear phase of the animation through jQuery, setting the next function in the chain as a complete callback. After all the functions are prepared and the animation is started, no other calculations are made. This setup reduces runtime overhead to the absolute minimum, making CrossSlide the most optimized implementation of these effects. CrossSlide can create a few different effects, depending on how its called.
